One Thing I Wish I Did While Planning My Wedding

When I reflect on my season of engagement, there’s not much I would change. Most everything went off without a hitch and frankly, I had no problem planning my wedding. It seemed like almost every vendor I wanted was available and my venue had straightforward communication.

But as the months went on, my email started getting clogged with wedding emails and even advertisements from vendors I inquired with but did not move forward with*. Besides being frustrated with a full inbox, I didn’t think much of it until I started talking with my 2020 brides.

As I started booking for 2020, I realized that quite a few of my brides have specific emails for wedding planning. Lightbulb! The one thing I wish I had done while planning my wedding was creating a wedding email. It’s a great way to filter through vendor emails and also keeps your main inbox clean.

Most of the couples use something such as, “LastnameWedding2020” or “InitialsLastNameWedding2020.” Whatever it might be, I highly suggest creating an email for wedding planning.

*Quick note about not moving forward with vendors: please let them know. Please take a few minutes and email them saying, “I’ve decided to move forward with another vendor. Thank you for your time and information. I truly appreciate it!” Trust me, it means the world when brides let us know they have moved on with someone else. Ghosting isn’t fun in romance and it’s not fun in the wedding industry!
