Choosing your wedding photographer is a huge decision. Odds are, your photographer might be one of the people you spend the most time with on your wedding day. To help you prepare to find your photographer for your special day, it’s important to know what questions to ask. That’s where I come in! I’ve rounded up my top 4 questions you need to ask your potential wedding photographer.

4 Questions You Need to Ask Your Wedding Photographer

1.
“How will you direct me in front of the camera? I’ve never been in front of the camera before.” – Know whether you are looking for a candid photographer or a portrait photographer (or a mix of both!). Will your photographer provide prompts and posing help?
2. “How would you describe your editing style?” – My tip? Look through your potential photographer’s portfolio, website, or social media. Do you like their editing style?
3. “Do you have backup gear? Backup shooters? What happens in the worst case scenario? How do you backup my images?” – All of these questions provide you with peace of mind in knowing alllll the steps your photographer is taking to ensure your day runs smoothly, and as expected.
4. “How does this whole process work? Walk me through the next steps all the way until I get the images back.” – You don’t want to be asking yourself, “now what?” Have your photographer fill you in on what happens next.

I could go on and on about what to discuss with your photographer, but ultimately, these questions will get the ball rolling to chat about your big day.
